How to create a community ?

Create a community

To create a new community, you must follow the steps below :

Create pages:

1- Click on Pages

2- Click on the button "+" in front of Communities, select "Widget page", enter the name of your page (ex: Test)

3- Select the layout "Layout-community" and click on "Save"

You are redirected to the Public Pages.

4- Click on the button ">" in front of Communities, then on the button "+" in the front of Test to create a sub-page under Test (Note : you have to put the cursor on Test to show the button "+".

5- Create 4 widget pages: Forum test, Wiki test, News test, FAQ test.

At the end you should have a structure like that:

Create Web content:

At this step, pages we just created are not accessible. Now we have to create web content and link pages to buttons.

1- Click on Web Content

2- Click and enter into Communities

3- Create a new folder with the name of your community (For example Test), by clicking on the top right blue button, then on the button Subfolder. Fill the form with the name of your community

4- Enter in the folder (Test) you created and create a card community structure. 

5- Enter the name

6- Select an image from your disk

7- Give a description and

8- Enter the label of your button (Ex: Enter)

9- Select the page to call when the button is clicked. This page is the main page of the community, the entry point.

Go back to the Communities page

9- Click on the button add

10- Select content to show web content created and drag and drop "Test Community" into the view

You should have your web content on the view

11- When clicking on the button Enter, you are redirected to the page Test, and the page is empty. We have to add, 4 buttons to access to Wiki, Forum, FAQ and Blog pages we created at the beginning.

12- Go back to content > Web Content > Communities > Test and creates 4 web contents :

- The "description" of web content :

Save it.

- The "forum" web content :

Click on "+" button then widget description. Add information about the forum

Enter the title and click on "Link to page". Select "Communities > Test > Forum test

Using the same procedure, you have to create web content for Wiki, FAQ and News.

For Wiki, select the "Link to page" wiki test.

For FAQ, select the "Link to page" FAQ test.

For News, select the "Link to page" News test.

Deploy Web Content

Go back to the "Communities" page.

Enter inside the Test community by clicking on the button "Enter"

Drag and drop all web content in the empty page

ADD WIKI TO WIKI PAGE

Enter in the Wiki page

Click on the button (+), then on the button "Widgets". Search Wiki.

The next set is the configuration of the wiki to define scope.

Choose the scope "Wiki Test (Create New)" and save.

ADD FORUM TO FORUM PAGE

The procedure to add a forum is the same than the procedure to add a wiki. But in step 2, instead of search wiki, you have to search for "Message Board"

ADD NEWS TO NEWS PAGE

The procedure to add news is the same than the procedure to add a wiki. But in step 2, instead of search wiki, you have to search for "Announcement". Drag and drop Announcement on the left, then alert on the right.

ADD FAQ TO FAQ PAGE

The procedure to add FAQ is exactly the same than the procedure to add a wiki.

Now you have your community ready to be use.
