How to edit an existing algorithm in the catalogue?

When you want to edit an existing algorithm, presents in the catalogue, you have to :

1- Copy the HTTPS URL of the source code:

2- Clone the project inside Eclipse che:

In the console runs the command: git clone <Source code url>

3- Create a new branch for your modifications: Git > Branches > Create. You enter the name of your branch, for example, my_name_and_the_name_of_the_feature then click on "ok".

A branch is a copy of containing only your modifications

4- Once the branch is created, click on Git > Branches. Select the branch you just created and click on checkout

5- Once you Checkout your new branch, you can start your modification.

6-Once you are satisfied by your modification, add, then commit and push it.

for example, I add a print in the sample file. I add, commit and push with these commands :

git add .

git commit -m "Modification of the sample"

* Please tell me who you are.

Run  git config --global user.email "you@example.com"
  git config --global user.name "Your Name"

to set your account's default identity.
Omit --global to set the identity only in this repository.

git config --global user.email "teddy.kossoko@capgemini.com"

git config --global user.name "Teddy Kossoko"

git commit -m "Modification of the sample"

git push --set-upstream origin teddy_kossoko_update_sample

7- Go to the repository in Gitlab. in the project click on create merge request :

Assign to the administrator and submit for merge. He will get a notification

The administrator will review the source code then merge the new file with the old one.

All users can now use this new version of the source code.
